CANADA!!!!!!

Upon our first (and second) Canadian hit, i'd just like to say: GO CANADA! I know everyone may not share my enthusiasm, but i think Canada rocks. Y'all have awesome accents, and you speak some French, and you learned to deal with the cold that those of us in central Illinois just yell and curse about. So, in conclusion: Yay Canadians! Keep visiting the blog!!!!

PS: all posts or comments dissing Canada or anyone that lives there will be deleted. :)

Grahhhh...

Well, that wasn't really the most fun i've had. It was really cold and wet. Rather unpleasant being cold and wet for 48 hours. On the plus side, we pulled a snowboard (and nolan) out of the lake. That was funny. But i have a headache so i'm going to sleep or something. Bye.

Camping Trippppp

Yep. Another one. And, if you live in the USA, then you probably know that there's a lot of weird weather going on around here (if not, you might still know, but if you live on this side of the pond, you should know). This weekend, Illinois' weird weather just happens to be a snowstorm. That's right, we've been getting 60s and 70s, but the weekend we go camping, we get snow. I'll bet you'll know what's happening to us though, because i have a plan. I already know Dalton can take pictures on his phone, which probably means he can email them too. I also know he has text, so he can keep in touch with Ally. If anyone feels interested in letting everyone else know what's going on, a text to Ally and the blog will know. So you'll be the first people to know that one of our scouts is lost, sick, or deceased! Though i doubt any of that will happen, at least you'll know when we get buried beneath 6 inches of wet, goppy snow. So all y'all stay warm back home while we wild ones go out and freeze our butts off! And i'll try to put pics up too when we get back. Happy Friday!

Mission: Earth Hour

Have any of you heard about earth hour? Apparently, it's a WWF thing where people turn their lights of for one hour at 8:30 PM local time, this Saturday. Sound cool? It's basically them trying to prove that people can save energy, and maybe the whole planet...

Away From the Sun- 3 Doors Down

It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense Can anyone do what I've done I missed life I missed the colours of the world Can anyone go where I am 'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun again Away from the sun again I'm over this I'm tired of living in the dark Can anyone see me down here The feeling's gone There's nothing left to lift me up Back into the world I've known 'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense And now I can't do what I've done And now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me 'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines the life away from me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again

Wow. . .

I apologize for my not being a very active administrator. A lot of things have been going on and I never really think about posting. For instince, last week I went to Destin, Florida as all of you pirates know. The first two days we were there it rained, but the rest of the week was wonderful. Then we come back home to more rain xD. I'm excited that mi estacion favorita la primavera is here! (In english: My favorite season, spring). That also means sailing weather is coming which means more pirating!!!

Shooting into the Dark...

Anyone there? Google analytics says you are. But no one has ever commented besides the people that write on the blog. I know some of them haven't been checking in a while, and some don't check at all. we're had 10 people here and i'm only one. Comment if you like what we're doing though!

Also, as an afterthought, i can help with glasswork and about everything else on boats for cheap!

Love in the Library- Jimmy Buffett

On the corner of Government and Bay Avenue,
The old doomsday fanatic wore a crown of Kudzu
Sirens we're wailing in the gulf coastal heat,
and it seemed like the whole world was in forced retreat

Payed no attention, revolved through the door,
Past the newspaper racks on the worn marble floor
Near Civil War history my heart skipped a beat
She was standing in fiction stretched high on bare feet

Love in the library, quiet and cool
Love in the library, there are no rules
Surrounded by stories, surreal and sublime,
I fell in love in the library, once upon a time

I was the pirate, she was the queen
Sir Francis and Elizabeth, the best there's ever been
Then she strolled by my table and stopped at the stairs
And sent me a smile as she reached for Flaubert

Love in the library, quiet and cool
Love in the library, there are no rules
Surrounded by stories, surreal and sublime,
I fell in love in the library, once upon a time

-Insturmental break-

She gathered her books, walked while she read
Words never spoken, but so much was said
You can read all you want into this rendezvous
But it's safer than most things that lovers can do

Well stories have endings, fantasies fade
And the guard by the door starts drawing the shade
So write your own ending and hope it comes true
For the lovers and strangers on Bay Avenue

Love in the library, quiet and cool
Love in the library, there are no rules
Surrounded by stories, surreal, and sublime,
I fell in love in the library once upon a time

Surrounded by stories, surreal and sublime,
I fell in love in the library once upon a time

Ha! The unforseen is Good!

I promised more pictures today right? Well I took one, but that's not the good.
The good is that i found my moms old Vivitar XV-1 camera. This camera is very nice film camera that uses 35 mm film. I can't wait to go out and take awesome pics with it.

Well...

...it was too pretty outside. With the arival of the Illinois Spring, the first Spring showers made a cool background to the bits of Plains I was out and about in. I just thought I'd share the long-awaited Illinois Spring.

Utility pole and Sky
A utility pole with the sky in the background.

Watertower
The water tower of the village of Pleasant Plains.

Church Flagpole
The flagpole in front of the church with a light breeze blowing by.

Church Bells
The bell tower on top of my church; one of the taller structures in Plains.

I also tried some after dark. Due to the ineffectiveness of my cheap, old camera, none came out too great. I might go for a bike ride and take more pics if tomorrow is nice. They're predicting sun, but only 55 degrees. That might be optimal conditions for some great photograhy though. We'll see...

Spring!

See? It gets quiet when we aren't sailing!
But that's gonna change. Now that it's getting into the 60s and 70s during the days, it's gonna be sailing weather in no time!
Who knows, we might even put in this weekend! If i could drive by myself, i'd put BR in tomorrow, but i can't. so we'll just have to see about this weekend.
Who wants to sail!?!
