Help me Help ALL OF US

Hey guys. I know at least a couple people read my blog and I need an accurate count of how many. And not just to see if I have the most people out of my friends.

No.

I need your help to save the world.

'Yeah right!' you're saying. I know. Trust me; I get that ALL the time. No joke.

And maybe there isn't much YOU but, if every one family or person changed one habit, we could practically save the world ourselves.

If every company took better measures to prevent waste, we could nearly save the world.

If every government teamed up and spent the money we use for war on ways to help the environment (like sponsoring an Automotive X-Prize Contender) we could almost save the planet. But even that alone would probably not completely SAVE the planet.

But if we did all of this stuff, if we took a kid like ME seriously, if we all showed even the slightest bit of care, we could, TOGETHER, SAVE THE WORLD. No joke.

So please, comment. Tell me who you are, and what YOU are doing to help. Or just tell me if you read my blog.

And trust me, I'm not ALWAYS lecturing on how to save the planet. But today I am and I need your help. PLEASE.

If you can't think of a way to help, I have a couple ways for you:

1. Save water. You may think just because 3/4 of the Earth's surface is water, you can waste as much as you fancy but it's not the truth. We get water from underground aquifers. They are going on empty and once we run out, no more water.

2. Use compact fluorescent lights. If everyone replaced ONE incandescent light with a fluorescent, it would be like taking a million cars off the road. It saves money and they last longer too.

3. Carpool. No difference right? WRONG! If everyone rode two to a car instead of one, it would be the exact same as taking half the cars off the road. Carpooling is convenient too. I've done it. It saves gas and you can have fun seeing your friends more often.

4. Don't use more electricity than you need. If you're going out of your house, don't leave all the lights on. It fools no one if all the lights are on and stay on for 5 hours. Don't leave the light in your room on while you eat dinner. Just simple things like that.

5. Find out on your own what you can do to help. There are many sites that would like to tell you what to do to help. There are also many people like me that want to help you help save the planet.

And don't say 'oh, you can handle it' to the people like me. Even if we tried, we'd crash and burn. We need EVERY SINGLE PERSON to help.

Find out what you can, do anything (or everything) you can to help, and post comments (or email me at saxparrot@gmail.com. I would love to talk and use your ideas)! Thanks so many times over. :]
